List the skills you have picked up from your temp jobs
It is a very good idea to list the many skills you have acquired in your various jobs.
Here is an example:
2001-2004 Various temporary positions within customer service for companies that needed these specific skills: XX, XXX and XXXX. Experience from e.g.:
- Novo Nordisk
- Danske Bank
Don’t forget experience from relevant jobs/sectors
It is important for your future employer not to miss the fact that you have a year’s priceless experience from a relevant job or sector.
If you have had a lot of short-term temping jobs, you should only include the most relevant to the position/sector you are applying for.
Adapt your temp experience to the job
This means highlighting the most relevant experience. So remember to adapt the temp jobs you mention on your resume to the specific application you are sending out.
Reverse chronological order
Another way of laying out your resume which could be especially helpful to anyone with many short-term temp jobs might be to list the jobs according to the functions you performed. And perhaps in reverse chronological order. That could look like this:
Experience of budgeting and analysing data from temporary positions through Moment A/S with e.g. Western Copenhagen Police (Københavns Vestegns Politi), Danske Bank, Express Bank.
Job experience as: finance officer, customer consultant and financial controller. Period: 2005 - now.
Project management experience from temp positions through Moment A/S with e.g. Lasso X, AstraZenica.
Job experience as: Project manager, administrator. Period: 2003-2005.
